About the eTextiles Lab
The eTextiles Lab is located on the 5th floor of Peckham Road, in PR_B502B.

Please note that the lab is unsupervised with no technicians available from 1-2pm everyday for lunch.
Equipment
tAt the CCI we have two main pieces of digital textiles equipment:
- the Brother KH940 Digital Knitting Machine, which may be used either manually, or programmed using the DesignaKnit software. It's also possible to knit with conductive yarn on the machine, to create sensors and other electronic components.
- The Brother PR1055X Embroidery Machine, a digital embroidery machine which may be programmed using either Brother's PE Design software (think: MS Paint but for sewing), or the p5.js library p5.embroider.

Additionally, we have a BrotherThe sewing machine thatand canvinyl alsocutter do not require an induction. However, if you would like to be usedtaught forhow student projects. If you have used a sewing machine before you mayto use thisthem, withoutplease training,contact otherwiseRosie askor the technicians.

The heat presss requires an induction and for a technicians to be present whilst using it.
While we do not have a dedicated loom, we have a laser cut loom that students may want to experiment with.
We also have two PCs, with the following software installed:
Safety
The knitting machine, embroidery machine and heat press all require inductions to use. These may be booked on Orb.
The vinyl cutter and sewing machine are free to use without an induction, however, if you would like some help with either machine please ask Rosie or Agnes for support.
