Booking a Bambu Printer Slot on ORB
Reminders:
If You Cannot Make a Booking
If you cannot make a booking, your account may be blocked, or you may not have completed the required induction.
If your account is blocked, please contact our Kit Room technician.
If you have not completed the induction, please check the previous page: Access, Rules and Health & Safety.
Important Induction Reminder
3D printing inductions only take place at the start of the academic year, not in the middle or at the end of the year.
If you have not completed the 3D printing induction between September and March, you cannot operate the printers yourself.
You may ask another inducted student to print for you, but they must operate the machine at all times.
Booking Rules
Bambu printer slots are unsupervised slots for experienced users only.
Before you come to the Lab, please make sure you have:
- Booked an equipment slot on ORB
- Booked the printer for the full length of your print
- Named your print job with your Slack name
- Checked your model and slicing settings
- Messaged a technician in advance if you need support

Naming Your Print Job
Each print job must be named with the student’s Slack name.
This allows technicians to identify the user if there is a problem with the print.
Print jobs may be cancelled if the user cannot be identified or if the printer is used without a valid booking.
Arrival Time
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your booking so you have enough time to prepare your print, check the machine, or have your file checked if necessary.
If you need technician support, please message the technician 1–2 days before you need to print.
Walk-in support cannot be guaranteed.
If you do not arrive within 15 minutes of your booked start time, the printer may be released to other walk-in students.
This helps ensure fair access and allows everyone to plan their fabrication time during busy periods.

Before using the Bambu H2D Pro printers, you must book an equipment slot on ORB.

How to Book a Bambu Printer Slot
1. Open ORB
Go to: https://orb-arts.siso.co/ui/scan-to-book.php
2. Search for “Digital Fabrication”
Use the search bar and search:
Digital Fabrication
3. Alternative booking route
You can also book through the standard ORB menu:
ORB → Simple Booking → Make Bookings → Space Booking
Then search:
Digital Fabrication
4. Select the correct equipment slot
Select the Bambu H2D Pro printer slot you need.
Make sure you slice the model and check the time needed, and your booking covers the full length of your print + roughly 20 minutes preparation time.
